His Last Glimpse of the Sun

In acrylic, fantasy, gold, mars, red, science fiction, space, sunset on October 7, 2011 at 11:53

Alexandra Cook

Two figures in spacesuits watching a sunset over the hills, mountains, canyons, dunes and plains of Mars. An illustration for an unfinished chapter in my Russian sci-fi novel (http://www.proza.ru/2008/12/10/483). The text on the painting is from my Martian poem (http://stihi.ru/2008/12/05/1270). As the picture has silver and gold paint it is useful to see it under different angles:

The painting is done with acrylic paint and ink, in a hardboard.

Golden Flower Original Miniature Artwork in pen & ink

– One of the kind floral sketch artwork in “slightly Asian” style –
– pen and artist non-fading ink on quality paper with specks –
You could frame it for you house, give it to somebody, frame it for a dolls house, use it for a handmade card / gift tag decoration 🙂 –
Done admiring a flower of Bídens tripartíta (Three-lobe Beggarticks, Three-part Beggarticks, Leafy-bracted Beggarticks or Trifid Bur-marigold)

Dunes and Stars

In bird, digital, fantasy, gold, landscape, my artworks, pastel, pen on March 15, 2010 at 13:23

Dunes and Stars by ~linandara on deviantART

The sea of sand dunes under incredible stars (or comets?) and a silhouette of a bird of prey passing by. Either a poetic vision of this world or a glimpse of another one… This first has been done as a soft pastel and golden ink pen sketch from imagination. Edited in Photoshop.

The second image is a very recent one, just a few days old. An outdoor (plein air) artwork, done in early March 2010 in Newtown, Powys, Wales. It was an cold overcast day, the field were still yellowish after harsh winter, birch trees stood leafless. I love this “zig-zag” hill near where I live. The pattern is made of hedges and roads between fields. I struggled with this one a lot, then suddenly started using a thick golden permanent ink marker converting it into a sort of stained glass picture. The way the golden lines look change depending on your point of view. I am really happy with this one.
