About this blog

In обо мне, my artworks, религия, photography, sales on January 30, 2013 at 16:12

Over the years I’ve accumulated several blogs: A general English one, two Russian ones, one about art, two with quotes I like, one with interesting news articles, one with thoughts, one with verses, one with my photos, one with digital art, one with digital finger paintingsone with my photos and paintings… It became too confusing. I want simplicity! One life – one blog. It is still a bit rough, but I’m working on it. So, it will be just this blog, the web page, Facebook, Pinterest & Twitter. Lets see what will happen…

За годы у меня скопилось несколько блогов на разные темы (см выше) и я стала в них путаться. Пытаюсь все свести в один. Если кому-то интересно, подписывайтесь лучше сюда.

Facebook page

In my artworks, sales on October 19, 2011 at 09:21

Still working on my new Facebook page. Classifying myself. Its a bit boring, but I guess its has to be done.

Sold a little drawing and a little print since the middle of the summer. Had several “best of today” but it didn’t help. I guess its depression, recession or whatever. Feels like the worst time since I apppeared online around 2004. I’m wondering how the other artists are doing? Every time I go to the post office there are people sending some sort of packets all over the world. What are they selling??? Curious.

Artwork pricing

In moral issues, my artworks on January 8, 2011 at 08:48

As somebody was wondering why I price my artworks sort of low, I reply here:

This how its works with selling things: if something is too cheap its sells like hotcakes and the seller has to rise the price. That’s not what is happening. Plus I work fast and don’t think I have any moral right to ask more for the work I didn’t spend too much time creating. Plus I realise that I’m not a great artist and there are lots of my kind around. It looks very pretentious and silly when an artists who is not particularly good asks a great price for his or her artworks.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Everybody!

The Last Elf: An Autopsy

The Last Elf: An Autopsy by ~linandara on deviantART

A rather gloomy sketch based on a vision of several things from real world all mixed up together. E.g. some TV programms here in UK where they cut animals to pieces (“Inside nature Giants” I think its called, don’t really watch it), talking to somebody about Tolkiens elves, my desire to read people as an open book, reading about somebody who reminds me an elf in some respect, etc.

Also got it in a poem (not terrible good either) in Russian here

Pencil, gouache, graphite, A2 in size

Of course you are free to interprete this as you like, but my idea was like that: Somehow humans have got the body of a last elvish king and minstrel ever lived and they put it in a public autopsy show performed by a pretty Scully-like doctor and a huge crowd watching, cameras flashing. As the doctor proseedes, she try to imagine what that person was like, what he loved, etc. And she failes at that which is a bit of allegory for failure to grasp one’s soul essence by mechanically analysing one’s personality…
